Palm Beach has not seen anything like it, and probably won't for another 100 years... An estimated 1200 folks gathered on Sunday April 17, 2011, including the town's two Rotary Clubs, to take part in the town's Centennial parade, um, make that "Centennial Promenade" that kicked off a night of public celebration at the Flagler Museum. By 5:30 pm, members of the Palm Beach and Palm Beach Flagler Rotary Clubs were arriving doning period costumes and wide brim hats awating the announced 6 pm start time that drew all generations and walks of Palm Beach life. A clown was already on scene, parents pulled tykes in red Radio Flyer wagons, and the older set sported straw hats and comfy walking shoes. Members of the Palm Beach Pipe and Drum Corps were busy rehearsing on one of the Palm Beach Day Academy's fields, and police on motorcycles, bikes and on foot surveyed the Seaview Avenue staging street. Paul Noble, who took to the stage in the recent Palm Beach Centennial Follies, was wearing a polo shirt that gave away his participation in the Centennial event. "We're hoping to stop and sing tunes from the show along the way," he said.
